STATESBORO- Summer is right around the corner and Georgia Southern students are ready to shut their laptops, log out of Folio, and have fun.
Well, some students, at least.
I asked Georgia Southern students what their plans are for summer break as this spring semester comes to an end.
Many students said they will work throughout the summer and attend classes or take online courses at Georgia Southern.
Genevieve Morea, a senior political science major, plans to spend her summer studying for the LSAT and interviewing for a law administrative position. She said she's also excited to attend a concert for the K-pop group, “Stray Kids.”
“I will be going on a few fun trips with my mom and friends,” said junior nursing student Mallorey Henlow. “But for the most part, I’m staying here in Statesboro to work at Southern Health and Wellness.”
Sophomore Kaylee Tucker says she is also staying in Statesboro over the summer to work and take classes. She hopes to have free time to meet up with her friends and relax.
Abby Marino, a junior, agrees that she will be busy doing work this summer and online classes from home.
Freshman Tabitha Carty says her plans are simple. “I just want to work and lay out to get tan.”
Other Students are focusing on internship opportunities and graduate programs over the summer.
Philosophy major Isaac Lacap is using his post-grad summer to look into graduate school programs and apply.
Junior finance major Brady Miller is spending his summer interning at the movie studio “Twelve Studios” this summer.
Environmental science and outdoor recreation double-major Annabelle Mayes says she is very excited to work at an outdoor day camp in Savannah this summer.
