Galactic Comics & Games, a Nerds Paradise

STATESBORO- Galactic Comics is Statesboro's go-to destination for comics, manga and tabletop games since 2006.  

Galactic has everything a nerd could dream of. They have multiple aisles of comics and manga from Batman to Dragon Ball Z. The shop also sells collectors items and memorabilia, like vintage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures. 

Galactic Comics also has Funko Pop figures stacked to the roof on one side of the building. They also have a large selection of card and tabletop games, like WarHammer 40,000, a miniature wargame. Galactic has game sets, miniature models and paints for WarHammer and more. 

They have multiple board games from franchises like Disney, Dr. Who and Marvel. The store also has everything you need to start your own Dungeons & Dragons campaign. Galactic sells game manuals, dice, mats, pre-written campaigns, and more.

Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game RPG. In this game, you create your own character from scratch and even have to roll a dice to determine your hit points and other stats. It’s a game that requires cooperation with others and a dice roll often decides your fate. The game’s campaign is usually determined and led by a Dungeon Master or DM.

“I’ve been playing D&D for about five years now, my favorite part is creating cool and different characters to play as,” said Lilly Mayer, an avid D&D player.

In the back of  Galactic is an open gaming room. With multiple tables for players for card games or other tabletop games like D&D. The store hosts a Board Game Night every Friday from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Galactic Comics and Games is open to everyone in the Statesboro community, regardless of skill. It’s an integral part of the community that has something for everyone.
