STATESBORO- Students at Georgia Southern are getting ready for Easter Weekend, and many have fun plans for the holiday.
I talked to several Georgia Southern Students about their Easter plans and asked the question we all want to know. Do college kids still get Easter baskets?
“Yes, I do still get an Easter basket,” said senior Emily Delk. “My mom said she is going to ship it to me this year.”
73.3% of the students I asked agreed that they still get Easter baskets from their families.
Many students are spending Easter with their family members, but others are hanging around town and spending their time working or hanging out with friends.
“Depending on the amount of schoolwork assigned over that weekend,” said graduate student Caleb Hartshorn, “I'll be visiting my family at my uncle's house or staying at my apartment to work on assignments.”
Emmanuel Gonzalez, a senior at Georgia Southern, said he will be working to craft spring-themed donuts at Krispy Kreme over the weekend.
Most students I spoke to, who celebrate Easter, plan on attending church and eating with loved ones to commemorate the holiday.
Roommates Logan Belanger and Ieva Evaltaite said they plan to go to brunch in Savannah or here in Statesboro.
“I am spending time with family and we’re going to the beach for the weekend and watching church online,” said senior Jenna Maloy.
Freshman Quinn Strader says she is going easter egg hunting with her family after she visits them for church and lunch.
“I’m attending church and then going on a picnic,” said freshman Grace Bunk.
