STATESBORO G.A. - Georgia Southern University has seven sororities and nine fraternities on Greek row at the Statesboro campus. Each organization has dedicated members who work together to create a sense of friendship, help out their community, and raise money for their respective philanthropies. Our team wants to recognize these members and their organizations for the work they do to help those in need. First up are the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma and the fraternity Phi Delta Theta.

Kappa Kappa Gamma:

KKG has been on campus since March 30, 1990. The organization's sisters raise money to raise awareness of mental health. Each year, the chapter hosts a philanthropy week; last time, they raised a little over 3,000 dollars. KKG will be participating in this upcoming recruitment cycle, so if this is an issue you are passionate about, be sure to speak with them.

Phi Delta Theta:

Phi Delt recently recharted at Georgia Southern in 2016. The chapter currently has 83 active members in the fraternity that work to raise money for the national philanthropy Live Like Lou. Live Like Lou is named after the Columbia chapter alumni Lou Gherig and helps raise money for those with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gherig’s disease. They held their first philanthropy week since rechartering and raised around 13,000 dollars.

Stay tuned to learn about other organizations on Georgia Southern’s Statesboro campus!
